The King’s Speech 2023: Priorities for the Year Ahead

Today, in opening Parliament, the King read out the government’s legislative priorities for the year ahead. Including:

- New legislation to increase energy security, create jobs and improve skills.

- Delivering on our promise to level up and reinforce people's pride in the places they call home.

- Making our streets safer and strengthen our communities by making sure the police have the powers they need and that criminals receive the sentences they deserve.

- Improving our security and how we promote our interests on the global stage for the long term.
