LINK has today confirmed that local people will be able to continue to access banking services in the community through a new banking hub. Furthermore, Barclays have committed to keeping the branch open until the hub is ready meaning there will be no gap in service for the Leiston community.
On Saturday, Therese visited National Coastwatch Institution Felixstowe as part of their open day at Martello Tower P. The objective of NCI Felixstowe is to assist in the protection and preservation of life at sea and along the coastline.
Therese has pressed the case again with the Post Office to reinstate the Kelsale outreach service. She was speaking during a delegated legislation committee about the Post Office network subsidy cap which is due to rise from £500m to £750m.
Therese met the Deputy Chief Executive of LINK, Adrian Roberts, earlier this week to continue her campaign for a banking hub in Leiston and with it the potential to retain Barclays Bank for longer.

Therese has called on the County Council to pause any further work on the Active Travel scheme for Woodbridge - and has suggested that any future proposals to encourage more walking and cycling would be more readily accepted if they weren’t so anti-motorist.
Therese has welcomed the news that LINK - the organisation that’s responsible for assessing banking hubs – has agreed to re-evaluate the need for a hub in the Leiston area following the impending closure of Barclays Bank.
